Shri. T.K. Hamza, Advocate and political leader, was born as the son of Shri. T.K. Mohammed on 14th
July 1937 at Wandoor.
He started his political career joining the Congress party in 1957, and had served in the KSU, Youth
Congress, and INTUC. In 1984, he left Congress and joined CPI(M).
In 1982, Shri. Hamza became elected to Kerala Legislative Assembly as an independent candidate
from Nilamboor Constituency. In 1987, 1991 and 1996 also he got elected to KLA , contesting as a
CPI(M) candidate from Beypore Constituency.
Shri. Hamza served as the Minister for Works, Wakf, Haj and Inland Navigation from 2..4..1987 to
17..6..1991, in the Ministry headed by Shri. E.K. Nayanar.
During Xth KLA, Shri. Hamza was the Government Chief Whip in the Assembly from 1996 to 2001.
He Chaired the Committee on Public Accounts from 1991 to 1993, and the Committee on Privileges
from 1996 to 2001.
In 2004 Shri. T.K. Hamza was elected also to LokSabha.
During a long public life, Shri. Hamza also held at different times important positions both in Congress
and the CPI(M) and was President, Malappuram DCC(I) during 1978-1982 and D.C. Member, CPI(M).
Smt. Mymoona is his wife and they have three sons and two daughters.
