Shri. K.P. Noorudheen, senior Congress leader, was born on July 30, 1939, as the son of Shri. Mohammed Haji, at Peruvamba in Kannur District.

Entering politics through Youth Congress in 1953, Shri Noorudheen has later served as Convenor, and President of Mandalam Committees of the Congress . He was also General Secretary, DCC, Cannanore and Treasurer, KPCC during 1972-82.

Shri. Noorudheen became elected to Kerala Legislative Assembly in 1977, 1980, 1982, 1987 and 1991, all from the Peravoor constituency. From 25-5-82 to 25-3-87, he served as Minister for Forests, Animal Husbandry and Sports during 1982-87 in the Ministry headed by Shri. K. Karunakaran.

In a long career, Shri Noorudheen had also served for sometime as President, Coir Marketing Federation, and Managing Director, Veekshanam Printing and Publishing Company. At present he is Chairman,
Kerala State Financial Enterprises Limited.

Smt. Asma is his wife and they have one son and three daughters.
