Shri. M.P.M. Ahammed Kurikkal , senior leader of Muslim League, was born on 23.8. 1921.

Starting his political career early in life joining the Congress Party, he later joined the Muslim League in 1950, and was its Vice-President.

Elected to the 1st and 2nd KLA from Kondotty, he represented Malappuram in the 3rd K.L.A. He handled the portfolios of Panchayats and Community Development and Fisheries in the Cabinet of Sri. E.M.S from 6.3.1967, till his untimely demise next year.

He was also the Secretary of Muslim League Legislature Party in the 1st KLA and its leader from 1961 to 1964. Shri. Kurikkal had also been a Member of the Malabar District Board and the Malabar District Cooperative Bank.

Shri Ahammed Kurikkal expired on 24.10.1968, while serving as Minister.

The Assembly paid its homage to him on 28.10.1968.
