Shri. K.G.R. Kartha, Advocate and N.S.S leader, was born on 27th July, 1929 as the son of Shri Govindan.

Sri. Kartha started political life as a member of Indian NationalCongress. He was also active in the N.S.S and later, when N.S.S formed a political party of its own, the N.D.P, he joined the party.

Shri. Kartha became elected to Seventh Kerala Legislative Assembly from Thripunithura constituency as an NDP candidate. From 24.5.1982 to 29.8.1983 he was the Minister for Health in the Ministry headed by Shri.K.Karunakaran . He also served as the Chairman of Library Advisory Committee from 1984 to 1987.

His wife is Smt. Subhadramma and they have two daughters and one son.

Sri. K.G.R. Kartha expired on October 6, 1997.
The Assembly paid its homage to him on December 22, 1997.
