Shri. K.P. Ramachandran Nair , NSS activist and senior leader, was born as the son of Dr. K.P. Panikkar
on 1st January 1922 at Kavalam.
After education he became actively associated with the NSS and was one of the founder members of
NDP.
Shri. Ramachandran Nair became elected to the KLA in 1982 & 1991 from Aleppey constituency
representing NDP. Shri. Ramachandran Nair was the Minister for Health from 1..9..1983 to 29..5..1985
in the Ministry headed by Shri. K. Karunakaran.
He had served also as the Chairman, Aleppey Municipal Council previously from 1968 to 1979, and was
the President, District Committee and Member, State Executive Committee of NDP. Besides, he was the
President, NSS Taluk Union, Ambalapuzha, Member, Director Board of NSS and Treasurer, N.S.S.
Smt. T. Ratnamma is his wife and they have two sons and two daughters.
K.P. Ramachandran Nair expired on 28..2..2004.
The Assembly paid its homage to him on 28..7..2004.
