Shri. K.C. George , senior Communist leader, was born on 13th January 1903. A Post Graduate with LLB, he had practised as an advocate of Travancore High Court till 1938. In the meanwhile , Shri. George became a leader of Travancore State Congress and its Working Committee Member. He was also a member of the KPCC. However, in 1939, Shri. George joined the Communist Party, and he played an important role in the Punnapra-Vayalar Struggle. Later, when the ban on the Communist Party was lifted, he became the President of the Kerala Unit of the Party. Shri. George served as a member of Rajya Sabha also during 1952-54.
Shri. George was elected as a Member of the first Kerala Legislative Assembly, in 1957 from Mavelikkara constituency representing CPI . In the first EMS Ministry, Shri. George served as the Minister for Food and Forests and he held the post from 5.4.1957 to 31.7.1959.
Shri. George also has to his credit , a few note worthy volumes like “ Immortal Punnapra-Vayalar” and “ Ente Jeevita Yatra”.
Sri. K.C. George expired on 10.8.1986.
The Assembly paid its Homage to him on 17.8.1987.
